Andre Drummond saves his son from drowning after falling in pool: 'A parent's worst nightmare' - atsscoopvault.blogspot.com

The incident -- captured on a Ring surveillance video -- is a tremendous illustration of Drummond's paternal instincts

Any parent who brings their small kids to the pool understands that they must be cautious, and they all hope that they will never have to save their child from harm. While Andre Drummond of the Philadelphia 76ers wasn't as fortunate, he handled the situation as any decent parent would.

Andre Drummond recounted a terrifying incident at a private pool with his two-year-old son Deon in a video posted to his Twitter account on Thursday. Drummond dove right in, rescuing his son from the sea and transferring him to the safety of another adult.

Deon was unharmed because of his father's prompt intervention. Here's the link to the video:

Drummond's paternal instincts are amply demonstrated in this episode, which was captured on Ring surveillance video. Drummond signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency earlier this month after spending the 2020-21 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. Drummond is a two-time All-Star who has four times led the NBA in rebounding, from 2018 to 2020, including three years in a row.

Drummond is expected to play as a backup to All-Star center Joel Embiid in Philadelphia. The two had been involved in a spat that culminated in verbal barbs exchanged after a game in October of 2018, and the coupling is an example of strange bedfellows. According to NBA.com, Embiid claimed to hold "real estate" in Drummond's mind, After being ejected for a second technical foul after an Embiid score, Drummond accused Embiid of being an "Emmy Award-winning actor.

"

Drummond averaged 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game for the Cavs last season before averaging 11.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game for the Lakers in 21 games.
